Friday. News?

I like Die Antwoord and yes I respect them for their decision, it was just that THEIRS, if they don’t kiss ass then they don’t kiss ass. Must be that whole cult satanist thing I keep hearing about. Anyway. It all began here…

The South Africa duo told MTV that Lady Gaga had invited them to join her tour, but they refused.

“Lady Gaga asked us to tour with her and we were like, um, no thanks,” said Ninja.

They went on to claim that they left their previous record company Interscope Records because the label tried to change them into a “sh**ty” pop group in the mould of Gaga and Black Eyed Peas.

“I think they thought we were just like a weird, strange act, then like: ‘Let’s just let them have their fun for a while, and then when it comes to their second album we’ll have them play games’,” Ninja said.

“They were looking at Lady Gaga and The Black Eyed Peas and that type of sh**ty pop music, and were thinking we could like twist into that.”

But the duo, who hail from Cape Town, were careful not to speak ill of pop music itself and said they have nothing against the genre.

“We like making pop music, but we like making hardcore music at the same time, mixing them, but they’ve got, like, soul. It’s not like weak, superficial sh*t. You know?”

The duo released their second album, ‘Ten$ion’, in February and performed on the David Letterman Show to promote the album. Their current US tour is sold out.

Hours later…

Die Antwoord have annoyed Lady Gaga fans after revealing they rejected the pop singer’s request to support her on tour.

While many of Gaga’s fans think the zef rappers were stupid to turn down the opportunity, fans of the group believe the duo did the right thing because they feel her music will have a bad influence on the ‘Enter The Ninja’ hitmakers.

One Lady Gaga fan tweeted: “Die Antwoord says no to tour with Lady Gaga, why? Because she’s not zef enough and doesn’t use the p-word in every second sentence?”

Another fan said: “So Die Antwoord decline the offer to tour with Lady Gaga :/ ..IDIOTS!!” (sic).

And user @AusiDineo said: “Let me get this right: Die Antwoord turned down Lady Gaga because her music(according to them) is weak, superficial sh*t?…self-hate much? (sic).”

Die Antwoord fans hit back.

“Lady Gaga must feel dumb after Die Antwoord said no to her,” one tweeted.

@DiscordianKitty from Cape Town tweeted: “Die Antwoord turns down touring with Lady Gaga. Are we REALLY convinced their stupidity is just an act? (sic).”

Die Antwoord’s Ninja told MTV News that they had said no to an offer to accompany Gaga on her ‘Born This Way’ tour. The tour starts in April in Seoul, South Korea.

The zef rappers are currently touring Australia.

WORD! Foolstop.
